| Hey Carving Magazine™ Readers!
Happy anniversary to Carving Magazine™! We just celebrated our third full year of publishing! Thanks to all of you for supporting us these last three years. We will continue to bring you interesting carving information for years to come! In this issue we are happy to feature our popular step-by-step projects. You'll learn how to carve a colorful hummingbird pin, a beautiful caricature woman, and a lucky leprechaun. We've also found some unique projects for you. You'll see how to turn a simple silver ring into an interesting carving project. We've also had many requests to feature woodburning information, so there is a great article that includes tips, techniques, and even some history behind woodburning. An interesting step-by-step woodburning project is also included. Another highly requested subject is sharpening. We've included an overview of sharpening basics. For you beginners looking for more information on tools, there is a good description of gouges. We're featuring a lot of unique information in this issue. For you golf ball carvers, we found an interesting do-it-yourself project for you. It is a holder you make to help remove those golf ball covers. “Ask Joe” discusses wood and engraving. Ivan shares his professional view on originality in carving. Inside we also share some interesting information about wonderful people, interesting history, and a show we'd like you to know about. I'd also like to invite you to our online Readers' Forum and live chat. You can ask questions, read answers, and learn valuable tips for woodcarving. You'll find us on: www.carvingmagazine.com Our magazine is great because you tell us what you want to read! We're making it even easier for you to do this. There is a survey included in this issue. Please fill it out and return it to make your opinions known. To thank you for sending them in, we'll even draw from the completed surveys and give away some free one-year subscriptions. We hope you enjoy this issue of Carving Magazine™! As always, feel free to contact me if there is something specific you'd like to see us include in the magazine. Have an awesome day!!
