Hey Carvers!! We have another great issue of Carving Magazine for you! We're celebrating the holiday spirit with some awesome carvings – you'll find them in our Santa Gallery. Staying in the Christmas spirit, we also included a step-by-step Christmas ornament (with a motorcycle twist) called “Holly Davidson.” Speaking of step-by-step projects, we also have a wonderful heron, part three of “Ask Joe's” popular fireplace mantel series, and an adorable shelf sitter critter. For you pyrography fans, we have a step-by-step tutorial that features a cute miniature donkey. There are some interesting woodcarvers around us, and we are proud to share some of them with you. We found two very special people who have overcome some difficult obstacles to become woodcarvers, with the help of a wonderful instructor. Another interesting person runs an entire museum full of woodcarvings. Our regular contributors have again offered their expertise. Ivan shares his insight with "Doorways to Woodcarving," Ol' Don shows us how to create more caricature realistic faces and drew a great cowboy pattern, and John tells us about power carving tools in "Novice Nibblings." And last, but certainly not least, we have announced the winners of Haroun's poetry contest. You can also read their wonderful poems. There were over 200 entries; this contest was stimulating and fun - thanks Haroun! We appreciate you reading Carving Magazine!! Have an awesome day!!
