Hey Carving Magazine™ Readers!

We have some great articles for you to enjoy!

We found some fantastic carvings to feature in our photo galleries. The Ward Foundation put on its annual "World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition" and we're showing you some of the carvings. The realism in these carvings is amazing. Another photo gallery features some great whimsical carvings of clowns and Santas. We're very proud to know that we've inspired some people to carve the projects in our magazine. Some of our readers sent in photographs of their project carvings and we're featuring them in an interesting readers' photo gallery. If you have carved some of our projects, please send us some photos of the carvings so you can be featured in a future issue.

We have a special feature from a fantastic carver, Marv Kaisersatt. Marv shares his experience and shows us how his carvings have evolved through the years.

We always like to teach new ideas and techniques in Carving Magazine. Ivan Whillock and Joe Dillett are again sharing their expertise and insight in "Thinking Out of the Box" and "Are Commissions Your Mission?"

There are also some very interesting projects for you to try. If you like relief carving, you may want to try the "Nesting Bird" project. If caricature is more your style, you may find "Sweetie Pie" to your liking. Many carvers like to try carving golf balls and we have a nice rose project for you. We found a new, very interesting style of chip carving for you to try–it's called “Gouge Chip Carving” and it's beautiful.

Our carver's profile this issue tells you about the very interesting Ronnie Reed. John Call continues his “Novice Nibblings” feature and tells us about all-important dust collection. Ol' Don Burgdorf shares his drawing ability and again offers a great pattern.

We know there is a lot of information in each issue, and it is sometimes
difficult to keep track of everything we've published. This issue features
an index that organizes the topics in the last four issues. We also have
compiled many coming events and club information for you.

Thanks for reading Carving Magazine! As always, I'd love to hear from you. If you'd like to see something that we haven't published, please let me know!

Have an awesome day!!
