My name is Cherie and I am interested in all kinds of crafts.
Would like to dabble more in wood.
As not sure how serious I will get my main interest is to use my Dremel kit.
One never knows were a hobby will take you.

Welcome to the forum! I started out with a Dremel also, but my style of carving is mostly caricatures in basswood (linden, lime) these days and basswood gets lots of "fuzzies" from the the Dremel burrs. Most of my basswood carvings are now done with gouges and knives. However, I have done some carvings in walnut, maple, and cherry, and the Dremel is ideal for these. From what I've seen of Australian woods, they tend to be harder, so the Dremel is probably a good choice for them.
