Mine must have been on a race hourse, it got here days ago... Last name is in th middle of the alphabet but my state begins with a "D"... That's why they skipped Ohio and came straight to Delaware :P

Strange, mine made it here yesterday! Actually before it hits the store shelves! Must be because they use dog sleds up here instead of mules and there's plenty of snow on the ground!

Before they send me over the standing part of the fore sheet, I'd like to pipe: "Splice the Main Brace" ...one more time.

Hey Everyone!

I'm so glad many of you subscribers have received Carving Magazine before it hits the newsstands! Our publishers listened to subscribers' previous concerns about this and changed their publishing schedule. It's nice to hear the change is working!

Hi Nancy, I took a look at your Webshots site and boy, do you have some great work there. Such variety- and attention to detail- and superb carving! Almost makes me want to try to carve a Santa. Honestly, those are some of the best Santa carvings I've ever seen. You should consider writing an article for Carving Magazine on either your inspiration, or carving, or painting techniques. I would be interested in learning about all three topics. Keep up the good work- Donna Menke
Pleased and honored to be part of Carving Magazine. Always interested in peoples' questions about woodworking and carving.

Nancy - I agree with Donna - I'd especially like to see some detailed explanations with close-up photos of the way you do the beard/hair on your Santas.

Well - Donna and Claude I sure owe you something :D How very NICE you are.
I haven't been very well and I have one more giant step ahead of me. I PROMISE as soon as I get over that to try to work up a beard carving page as good as I can. :?

OH -- I forgot to say ...... when I'm working on hair or a beard the most important thing is a good woodburner. I use a woodburner more than a knife when doing hair. And I use those Dockyard chisels too.
