Eagle transformation mask

I made this mask a few years ago. If you look closely, you can see where I've been sloppy about dusting.

West coast 1st nation lore say waaaaaay back when, everybody could transform back and forth between man and animal shapes. With this mask, I tried to capture a transitional moment, where elements of both man and Eagle are visible.



Which way is he transforming at this point? Your guess is as good as mine.

Alder, about 18" high.

Ahhhhh, whitecree. You may have been a bit sloppy about dusting but you sure weren't with carving.
That's a very beautiful mask. Lovely carving and painting.

Well Whitecree, that is an interesting concept and a wonderful carving.

I know of people who change personalities, especially first thing in the morning, they wake up as a bear, or a turtle....but not their whole body changes! LOL
