Hi Alice, not sure why your image didn't load. I did copy and paste the url in your post and was able to see your bowl. It's hard to really get a good look as the image is quite small. Maybe you could add a link to your photo bucket album where your bowl is located? Maybe there is a clickable larger image of your bowl. From what I can see it looks like a really nice bowl.

Don't know why it didn't post either. Think it might now. Looks very nice, would be even better if the picture was a little bigger, then we could really see it.

Hey Aliciana,

Looked at the bowl using your link. If you look on the photobucket page under the picture there are 4 different addresses that are used to do different things. If you just click on the bottom one you should see a box come up that says copied. Then come to the forum and in the box that you put your comments in all you need to do is use the right button on the mouse and select paste. Everything you need will then be in the comments box and when you hit the submit button - Wa-La the picture show up.

Hope this helps!

Plus the first three blocks directly under the big block you type in should not be checked.

By the way, that is a truely beautiful bowl.
God Bless You,
Terry

Bowl

Postby Aliciana » Wed Feb 06, 2008 4:57 pm

Thanks again for the help and compliments I shall try one of the other pictures. This piece of cedar was sitting under our cottage for 35 years before I started it and I just followed the wood, this is my prefered type of carvings you can see in my album , for some reason I can't work with patterns or copy ,I have tried and for every cut to make I have to look 100 times, must be my brain lol.The bowl has now some finish on it .

:) Alice, keep carving from your heart and imagination it works for you.
I personally, prefer not to work from a pattern, but I do like to work from my drawings or paintings. I think we all have our own method of how we like to carve. That is a wonderful thing.

Alice, What a fantastic bowl! At first look I knew there could not have been a detailed plan. Your bowl is the product of your imagination, spirit, and skill coming together. That fact that you do not like carving from a detailed pattern speaks to why you probably carve in the first place. I find it kind of difficult to be creative when carving from any sort of a pattern. Keep on doing what you do. Tom H
