Bobby Bear

Postby michael febbie » Wed Mar 12, 2008 5:14 pm

Hey guys, named this one after the country singer. It is my interpretation of a step by step by Lynn Diel issue 9 Cm. The bear is basswood finished with shalac and feed& wax. The stump is butternut and finished with shalac and dark paste wax. It ws a fun project and a brak from my usual large carvings.Comments welcome.

Hi Mike, cute bear! What is Feed & Wax? I don't recall seeing that product at our local hardware stores. I have heard others mention this product.

feed-n-wax

Kathy, feed-n-wax is a wood preserver. It has beeswax carnauba and orange oil in it enhances the natural beauty of the grain in finished and unfinished wood. It is a liquid and you put it on with a cloth and wait 20 min. and buff it with a clean cloth. It's kinda like a furniture polish.
