carve fest

Postby barkguy » Mon Mar 17, 2008 11:58 am

Chris & Mark,

I want to go to the carv-fest, not sure so far. I have been talking with Teri Embrey and we would like to travel together. If either of us can make it we sure plan to be there. Great carving group you have set up for the week-end. It will be good to see a bunch of old buddies and meet new ones! I'm looking forward to seeing your dad again and I met you, Mark and Marnie a long time ago. Don't know if you remember that. I tried to make it last year but just didn't work out! Tripped and broke a rib last year right before time to go. So looking forward to seeing you guys!

Hi Art,

Yup ... I remember ... I still run by those photos I took of you. You had a nice flower carving and a spirit. We took the photos outside by the front door.

If you are thinking about coming this year ... and want to take a class, register as soon as you can. We are about 20% full and haven't sent out our flyers to the mail list yet ....

Hope you can come ..

Chris

Tony Erickson at Faribault???

Postby bremmers » Mon Apr 21, 2008 6:30 pm

Chris

I see a note somewhere else about Tony Erickson had bypass heart surgery. I am assuming it is the Tony that comes to Faribault. I think my wife was taking a class from him if I remember correctly. Is it the same one and has the class changed or what is going to happen to the class?

Thanks Chris

Hi Gene,

Yes ... that is our Tony. It sounds like he is getting out of the hospital this week, we did receive a note from his wife that they most likely won't be at Carv-Fest.

I have already talked and lined up Ken Armsbury from Nebraska. Ken has taught Bark House carving for many years and does a great job. I was going to wait until I talked with Tony before I contact each student to see if they still wanted the class ... or not. Ken is good to go ... I just want to finalize with Tony.

Would you stay in the class, or would you like to do something else?

Chris

Just checked with my wife (Darlene) and she thinks she will pass on the class then. She had wanted to take Tony's class on the filigree windows, because she could then use that experience on her gourds. So it wasn't so much the bark carving but the filigree that she was interested in.

So you can refund her money or keep it and we will pick it up when we get down there.

Too bad about Tony's experience with the heart, but I am sure he will respond to the experience pretty rapidly.

Thanks Chris

Hi,

Thanks for the note .... we will take her name off the list for Tony's class.

We have not processed your credit card for the classes so I will take her class off your list.

We look forward to seeing you here .... we are over 60% full as of today.

Take care!

Well tomorrow morning is the big day......Starting to head towards Faribault for the Carv-Fest... Slowly going to work our way down there (wife and I)....Will be a fun time and looking forward to the seminars.

Hopefully a bunch of people from here will be going down to the show. If you see a bald headed ole' man walking around like he is lost, that would be me.....Say howdy...
