Relief of sorts

Postby Woodworm » Sun May 31, 2009 4:25 pm

Not exactly a relief carving, but carved in oak and added to a pine framed background.
"Simulated" relief perhaps ???
This little fellow I carved to remind me of my families Military history.
And also to remind me of the sacrifice made for our freedom.
He is caught in time marching forever into the void of the unknown before him.
And when you look at him, hopefully he will remind you of someone you knew, or know or wished you could have known.
(I will try this size to see if I am posting correctly -- please throw some feedback if I get it wrong)

Looks like a relief carving to me, and a good one at that!

That is a very interesting treatment ..Letting the viewer imagine where he is going and what's there. Much like where we are now ,fighting a war on Terror, that will never end because the Terrorists keep changing..First they were over seas, now they have become anyone who opposes big government, or Health care reform. Pogo was right!! Cordially Nad :D :) :(

I'm sure I havent lost anyone. I just meant it was not carved from one piece as I normaly do reliefs.
